Government Polytechnic, Puranpur (Pilibhit) was established in 2016 and is spread over 4.025 acres of land. It functions under the Directorate of Technical Education, Uttar Pradesh, and is affiliated with the Board of Technical Education, Lucknow. The institution follows the guidelines set by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, ensuring quality and standardized technical education in the state.

The college currently offers diploma courses in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering (Production). Initially, the academic activities began at Government Polytechnic Pilibhit and later shifted to its permanent campus at Village Tanda Gulab Rai on Puranpur-Madhotanda Road in the 2017–18 session. The Mechanical Engineering (Production) program was introduced in the 2018–19 academic year, adding to the college’s growing range of technical disciplines.
